Head of marketing

The marketing lead at ML6 is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s business goals. This role aims to enhance brand visibility, attract and retain customers, and drive business growth through effective management of the marketing team, external agencies, cross-department collaboration, and strategic communication efforts.
Your challenge
Strategy and overall company alignment:
- Develop and implement marketing strategy: design and execute a marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s broader business objectives, ensuring that all marketing activities support the overall company goals.
- Align marketing initiatives with company strategy: ensure that all marketing efforts are integrated into the company’s overall strategic plan, working closely with senior leadership to align on vision (eg. go to market, positioning, …), goals, and key initiatives.
- Budget management: You are responsible for creating, allocating, and managing the budget for all marketing activities. This involves working closely with the finance team to ensure that the marketing budget aligns with the company’s overall financial plan. You must ensure that resources are allocated efficiently across various marketing channels and initiatives, maximizing impact while staying within budget constraints.
- ROI analysis: continuously monitor the return on investment (ROI) of all marketing activities. This includes analyzing the performance of campaigns, content, and partnerships to determine their effectiveness in achieving key business objectives, such as lead generation, customer acquisition, and brand awareness.
Team management and coordination:
- Team coordination & coaching: Oversee, manage & coordinate the marketing team to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Cross-department collaboration: Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to develop and implement effective marketing strategies.
- External coordination: Coordinate and oversee the work of external agencies and freelancers, ensuring their output meets the company's standards and objectives.
- Single point of contact ( SPOC): Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all external marketing-related inquiries and activities.
Campaign management:
- Campaign strategy and planning: work out comprehensive campaign strategies and detailed plans to ensure effective execution.
- Budget management: allocate and manage budgets for various marketing campaigns, ensuring cost-efficiency and maximum ROI.
- Ad copy development: write and refine ad copy to align with campaign goals and brand messaging.
- Campaign execution: oversee the creation and deployment of marketing campaigns across different channels, ensuring all components are aligned and effectively implemented.
- Monitoring and adjustments: continuously monitor campaign performance, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes and meet targets.
- Data analysis: analyze campaign data to evaluate success, report on key metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Content and communication strategy:
- Define and execute the content marketing strategy: develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals. This involves ensuring that all content communicates the right messaging to attract new customers and retain existing ones, enhancing brand visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders: work closely with the head of business development, the chief technology officer (CTO), unit coaches, and the HR team to ensure that content reflects the company’s vision, technical expertise, and culture. This collaboration ensures that all content is relevant, targeted, and effectively supports the company’s objectives.
- Work with the copywriter and SEO expert: partner with the copywriter and SEO expert to develop, refine, and optimize content. This includes ensuring that content is engaging, SEO-friendly, and tailored to different audience segments, helping to drive organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
- Align content with business objectives: ensure that all content initiatives support broader business goals, such as lead generation, customer retention, talent acquisition, and thought leadership, by working in tandem with various departments to integrate their needs and insights into the content strategy.
Website Monitoring
- Oversee the management and optimization of the company’s website, ensuring it serves as an effective marketing tool. This includes working with web developers, designers, and content creators to maintain up-to-date content, improve user experience, and enhance search engine optimization (SEO). Regularly monitor website performance metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, and engagement, making data-driven decisions to improve site effectiveness and ROI.
Brand strategy & management
- You are responsible for developing and executing a cohesive brand strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives. This includes defining the brand’s positioning, messaging, and visual identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials. You will lead initiatives to increase brand awareness and improve market perception, manage brand assets, enforce brand guidelines, and monitor brand performance. Additionally, you will oversee the evolution of the brand to stay competitive and relevant, working closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain a strong, unified brand presence in the market.
Social media and public relations:
- Manage and coordinate the company’s social media presence: oversee the strategic management of all social media platforms, ensuring that content is consistently engaging, on-brand, and tailored to each platform’s audience. This includes creating and maintaining a detailed social media calendar that aligns with overall marketing campaigns, events, and key company announcements.
- Content creation and coaching: work closely with the different units, coaching and guiding them to develop high-quality, creative content that resonates with target audiences. Provide feedback and support to ensure that all posts, visuals, and campaigns reflect the brand’s voice and values, and effectively engage followers.
- Social media analytics and optimization: regularly monitor social media performance through analytics tools, assessing metrics such as engagement rates, follower growth, and content reach. Use these insights to optimize future posts and campaigns, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
- Public relations management: write and distribute press releases to communicate important company news, product updates, and other significant milestones to the media and public. Ensure that all press materials are well-crafted, accurate, and aligned with the company’s messaging strategy.
- Press/ media relations and executive visibility: coordinate media interviews for company executives, securing opportunities that enhance the company’s visibility and thought leadership in the industry. Work closely with the PR agencies and leadership to prepare talking points, anticipate media questions, and ensure they are well-prepared for each engagement.
Event management:
- Support the marketing team on event coordination, ensuring they are well-planned and effectively communicated.
- Manage event communication, including setting up keynote speaker opportunities and coordinating award applications for the company.
Partnership management:
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships: establish and nurture relationships with external organizations, including industry leaders, technology partners, and other relevant entities, to enhance the company’s marketing efforts and expand brand presence.
- Collaborate on joint marketing initiatives: work closely with partners to create and execute joint marketing initiatives, such as co-branded campaigns, events, and content collaborations
- Coordinate with alliance managers: collaborate closely with alliance managers to ensure strong and effective relationships with key cloud partners.

Monitor and optimise partnerships: regularly assess the performance of partnerships, using metrics and feedback to evaluate their success. identify opportunities for deeper collaboration or new initiatives, ensuring that the company’s partnerships remain dynamic and aligned with evolving business needs.

- A master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience using data to drive decision-making

- Excellent communication skills in English + one additional local language (German or Dutch) with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
